Tempa & Naor are a Maui-based singer-songwriter duo blending SoulFolk, Americana and Blues into what they call Music Medicine. Partners in life and music, their duo show reaches far beyond its size. Through live looping, Naor layers guitar, ukulele, bass and kick into a lush musical landscape, while Tempa’s powerhouse, soul-drenched vocals and emotionally charged storytelling take center stage.
Together, they bring decades of experience to their performances. Tempa has shared stages with B.B. King, Mavis Staples and Jeff Beck. Their musical history also includes Tempa & The Tantrums, winners of the Blues category at the 2006 Westword Music Showcase, and Maui’s Soul Kitchen, voted Best Band on Maui by MauiTime readers in 2017.
As Tempa & Naor, they have performed across the mainland U.S., Israel and Hawaiʻi, building a loyal following through heartfelt live shows. On Maui, Tempa & Naor have built a strong local audience through the musical projects they lead, with multiple sold-out performances, Music Medicine shows drawing 100+ guests at ProArts Playhouse, and major events drawing 300+ at Mulligans on the Blue, including Mardi Gras and Halloween. They also continue to present their recurring Music Medicine Sessions at Mulligans.
In 2025, they performed at the 10th Anniversary Maui Songwriters Festival at The Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua, and later opened for Ella Langley at the resort’s sold-out Fourth of July concert.
Their performances weave well-crafted originals with soulful interpretations of songs by artists such as Bonnie Raitt, Guns N’ Roses, Grace Potter and Mavis Staples. Each show is intimate, dynamic and rooted in connection, bringing great songs, deep groove and storytelling into a shared musical experience.
